Coach 1978-2015

At the helm of the YVC volleyball program for 28 years, Rogers had the longest continuous run of any head coach in school history.  This was preceded by 10 seasons as an assistant coach. During his time as an assistant for Betty Yaden and his wife Loralee Heinemann between 1978 to 1987, Rogers helped the program earn second- and fourth-place trophies at the NWAC tournament. He also served as a line judge at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Rogers took over as head coach of the program in 1988 and during his 28 seasons at the helm, was named East Region coach of the year six times and amassed 614 career wins. YVC made 15 appearances in the NWAC tournament and collected five trophies, including a runner-up finish in 1989 when the team set the still-standing school record of 47 wins in a season.

Rogers passed away in June of 2016.
