As a prolific scorer out of West Valley, Rostvold brought those skills to Sherar Gym and played 52 games over two seasons, piled up over 1,000 points and helped the Yaks capture the NWAC championship as a freshman.
Averaging 19.3 points during his first campaign, Rostvold collected three conference honors – East Division first team, NWAC All-Academic and All-Tournament in the conference tournament. In the title game against Green River, he hit three consecutive 3-pointers to spark a come-from-behind 80-78 victory.
Rostvold upped his average to 21.9 during his sophomore season, again earning East Division first-team honors and also being named MVP of the NWAC’s all-star game.
For his career, the 6-6 sharpshooter finished with 1,067 points, 109 3-pointers and 237 free throws – all still among the top five in YVC history.
Rostvold went on to play two seasons at Dickinson State in North Dakota.
