Kelly Fitzpatrick will begin his first season as Associate Head Coach for the Yaks after serving two seasons as an Assistant Coach (2020-21 and 2021-22).
Fitzpatrick joined the staff in the summer of 2020 as an Assistant Coach, overseeing the pitching staff and strength/conditioning. In his time at YVC, the program has accumulated a 58-25 record while moving 22 players on to four-year schools with seven reaching the NCAA Division 1 ranks.
He also served as the pitching coach for Skagit Valley College (2019-20) and for Whitworth University (2017-19.) During his time at Whitworth, the team won the Northwest Conference while tying a school record for wins and had two pitchers selected in the MLB draft.
A Spokane native, Fitzpatrick has also served as the pitching coach for the Yakima Valley Pippins in the West Coast League and helped them reach the league championship in 2021. Prior to this he served as a Manager in the Cascade Collegiate League and as the Head Coach for the Spokane Expos.
Fitzpatrick began his playing career at Washington State University before transferring to Yakima Valley College, where he was a Left-handed Pitcher from 2013-15. He transferred to Whitworth University and earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration.
