Yakima Valley College Women's Soccer has released their schedule for the 2022-23 year.  New Head Coach Josh Vega brings with him to the Yak helm an extensive background of coaching experience at the semi-professional, high school and club levels. For the past five years (2017-21), he has been the girls soccer coach for the Central Washington Sounders, a Puget Sound Premier League club team. 

After several fourth-place finishes in the past years, he Yaks are seeking the program's first playoff appearance since 2011.  Several returnees are back including 2021 All-Star Forward Isella Olivera and 2021 Honorable Mention All Star Mid-Fielder Rachel Farr.

Playing in one of the NWAC's toughest regions, the team's schedule includes opening at the NWAC Friendlies in Tukwila with matches against Whatcom and Pierce on August 23-24.  The team open's East Region play at Walla Wall on September 10 before returning for their league home opener against Spokane on September 14.  In total, the program will play 14 region matches in 2022, an increase of two matches as Wenatchee Valley College is once again fielding a women's soccer program.
