The Yakima Valley volleyball team continued its busy preseason schedule last weekend at the Bellevue Crossover, winning two of four matches to improve to 13-5 overall.
 

The tournament started with a three-set loss to host Bellevue, which put the Yaks away by scores of 25-22, 25-14, 25-18. Alivia Colbert and Lauren Chamberlain each put away seven kills, and Aydyn Anderson delivered 15 assists and 19 digs, but it wasn't enough against a stout Bulldogs attack.
 

The Yaks responded in Friday's second match, defeating Rogue 25-21, 25-11, 17-25, 25-20. Colbert and Chamberlain led the way once again with 11 kills apiece, while Anderson delivered six kills to go with 16 assists and 10 digs. Malia Wheeler posted a team-high 17 assists and Mireya Kawaguchi added nine digs on the defensive end.
 

Saturday's first match against Tacoma was a one-sided affair, with YVC cruising to a 25-19, 25-13, 25-8 victory. Colbert and Chamberlain each had nine kills to pace the offense, followed by Joely Tornow with eight and Lauren Jensen with seven. Anderson put up a team-high 18 assists, Wheeler had 13 assists, and Kamree Mills posted a team-best 13 digs.
 

YVC wrapped up the weekend by facing Bellevue for a second time, falling 25-14, 20-25, 25-21, 25-15. Chamberlain recorded a team-high eight kills, followed by Colbert, Tornow and Vilomena Cavuilati with seven apiece. Anderson delivered 16 assists and 17 digs, Wheeler had 13 assists and 18 digs, and Mills posted 17 digs.
 

The Yaks will begin NWAC East play on Friday at Walla Walla, followed by a road trip to Treasure Valley on Sept. 23. The conference home opener is Friday, Sept. 25 against Blue Mountain.
