The Yakima Valley women's basketball team saw its postseason hopes come to an end last week with a pair of home losses. The Yaks lost their fifth straight league contest, and seventh in the past nine outings, to fall to 5-8 with one game remaining.

Against Spokane on Saturday, YVC held a three-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter, but the Sasquatch rallied to hand the Yaks a 69-67 defeat.
Britany Phillips continued her consistent production, putting up 22 points and 15 rebounds despite shooting just 7-of-21 from the field.
Ashlynn Sylve faired a little better, going 9-of-15 on her way to 21 points. She also delivered four rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in a team-high 34 minutes.

Brooklynne Sylve hauled in nine rebounds, five points, three assists and two steals, and
Jewelisa Landa came off the bench to score 12 points and grab eight boards. Landa and Phillips each made four 3-pointers as the team shot 33.8% (24-of-71) from the floor.

Phillips also led the way in Wednesday's 67-45 loss to Columbia Basin, posting 15 points and seven rebounds.
Ashlynn Sylve had 10 points and six rebounds, while
Gwen Dawes and
Brooklynne Sylve scored seven apiece, as the Yaks fell behind by 14 at halftime. YVC struggled from the field, going just 29.1% (16-of-55), and making 4-of-16 from long range.

The Yaks (14-12 overall) will close out the season Wednesday at first-place Big Bend.
