The Yakima Valley women's basketball team dropped a key matchup to Wenatchee on Saturday, and with the loss, dropped into a tie for the fourth and final playoff spot in the NWAC East.

The Yaks defeated the Knights on the road last month, but they were unable to earn the season sweep on their home court, falling 80-76.
Britany Phillips led the way with 27 points and seven rebounds and
Brooklynne Sylve scored 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting.
Ashlynn Sylve added 13 points and five rebounds, while
Jewelisa Landa chipped in nine points and four rebounds off the bench as YVC shot 43.8% (28-of-64) from the field.

Wenatchee won the rebounding battle 34-22 and shot an efficient 49% (28-of-57) from the floor to remain in the playoff hunt at 3-6. YVC dropped fell to 5-4 in conference play, tied with Wednesday's opponent, Treasure Valley.
The Yaks (14-8 overall) won the first meeting with the Chukars on Jan. 17 and will return home Saturday to face second-place Walla Walla.
