Yakima Valley College Women's Soccer has released its schedule for the 2026 season. Head Coach
Josh Vega enters his fifth year at the helm of the Yaks program and is looking to build on the foundation established over the past several seasons while continuing the program's pursuit of its first playoff appearance since 2011.
Following a period of growth and development within the program, Vega is excited about the group taking the field this fall and the direction of YVC women's soccer. "There's a real sense of excitement around the program right now," said Vega. "We're bringing together a group that's hungry to compete, improve, and establish what Yakima Valley soccer is going to be about moving forward. We know that takes time, but we're excited to start that process this fall."
As has been the case in recent years, the Yaks will open the season with the NWAC Friendlies before beginning East Region competition. The early-season showcase will provide YVC with an opportunity to test itself against teams from throughout the conference and prepare for the start of league play.
The Yaks will then turn their attention to East Region play, where they will look to establish themselves as a competitive force within the region and continue building toward the program's long-term goal of returning to the postseason.
With a new season comes a renewed opportunity for the Yaks, and Vega believes the excitement surrounding the program is only the beginning.
