Yakima Valley College Athletics

The 1989-90 women's basketball team went 34-1 en route to winning the 1990 NWAACC Championsip.  During the championship game the team avenged its only loss of the season by defeating Clark College 62-48.

A deep team, they used their talent and dedication to lead the entire NWAACC in team defense, allowing only 53.7 points per game.  Coach Ellwood crosier greatly enjoyed leading this team, saying "These girls are fine young people--coaching them was a lot of fun."

The team was the first to be inducted to the NWAC Hall of Fame in the category of "women's basketball team" during the 2000 NWAC ceremony in Pasco, WA.

Team members:  Kim Boss, Lanette Crosier, Angie Garza, Heather Hurd, Wendy Myers, Stephanie Rankin, Michelle Schuler, Barbara Shuel, Heidi Trepanier, Kim Walker, and Danielle Wingerter.
