Coach 1950-1961
In thirty-four years of coaching at Yakima Valley College and Washington State University, "Bobo" has over 1000 wins and 24 league championships. Â He is recognized as one of the outstanding collegiate baseball coaches in the nation.
In 1981 he was president of the American Association of College Baseball Caoches and served seven years as chairman of the NCAA Baseball Rules and College World Series Committees. Â In 1984 he received the "Lefty Gomez" award for outstanding contributions and distinguished service to collegiate baseball.
Brayton wa a baseball All-American at WSU in 1947 and also earned varsity letters in football and basketball with the Cougars. Â In 1981 he was inducted into the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame.
At Yakima Valley College, he served as head baseball coach for eleven years (1951-1961) and head football coach for five years (1956-1960).  His baseball teams won nine state and ten league championships--accumulating a 251-68 baseball record for YVC over his tenure.  His Indian football teams had a five-year record of 24-18-5. He was inducted into the NWAC Hall of Fame in 1994.
