As YVC’s first All-American volleyball player to earn first-team honors by the AVCA, Richardson piled up 1,009 career kills over two seasons in 1990 and 1991.

The West Valley High graduate, a 5-10 outside hitter, filled her resume with East Region and all-tournament first-team picks as a freshman and sophomore.

Richardson’s 435 kills as a freshman led YVC to a third-place NWAC trophy in 1990. She followed with 574 kills (4.55 per set) as a sophomore when YVC took home fourth-place hardware from the conference tournament.

Leading her teams to a 79-20 overall record, Richardson still owns the program’s top single-match performances for kills with 42 (five games) and 30 (four) during her All-American season. In the NWAC tournament that year, she showed her versatility with 17 kills and 36 digs against Mt. Hood.

Richardson, who went on to play at Gonzaga, was YVC’s female athlete of the year for 1991-92.
